I've decided to appropriate their special little shirt personalities when I wear them. So let's meet the gang, in order of make:
Boxy Scout grew up on a cattle ranch and has proudly never worn heels after her grade 10 formal. She enjoys reading books in minimal sittings, eating competitions and astronomy.
Notes - The fabric is a cotton blend with circle & star pattern. I made only a few minor fitting adjustments including an FBA.
Disco Scout likes shiny objects and picking shards of silvery thread from her carpet. She works in IT and steals tim tams from her co-worker's top drawer.
Notes - Shiny disco balls! I altered the pattern by lengthening the hem (the back slightly more than the front, because I like that), curving the hem, and shaping the side seams a little so they better follow my waist line.
Creamy Scout enjoys laughing while eating salad, coffee dates, and colour coding her files. She has a scarily large collection of ceramic kittens hidden in her spare room.
Notes - This is my absolute favourite and most worn of the 3 scouts. I kept the fitting alterations from the disco scout and used a vanilla Lisa Ho cotton blend. It's almost a bit spongey. I also frenched all of the seams using Jen's wonderful tutorial.
I got them from The Fabric Store. You might be sick of seeing that name but they're probably the best store we have in Brisbane and I get to see this sexy lady when I go there. However, I'm totally open to online shopping stores if you have any suggestions!
Sorry if you're already sick of the scout, but I love it. And she loves me. And together, we're going to make an acceptable amount of t-shirts for a girl who always seems to wear t-shirts. They're a great fit and take only a few hours to whip together. I'll try not to bore you with too many scouts, but I hope you can find it in your hearts to accept our relationship.
